The Vltava River is not only the longest river in the Czech Republic but also a deeply cultural and historical symbol for the Czech nation. It runs through the heart of Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic, and serves as a lifeline connecting the past and the present. The river is mentioned in songs, stories and works of art, and is an integral part of the Czech identity. Among the most famous art piece is the symphonic poem “Vltava” by Czech composer Bedřich Smetana, which tells the story of the river from its small mountain spring to its confluence with river Elbe, capturing the landscape, history, and deep emotions tied to it.

Participating in the VLTAVA Swim is not just a sport challenge but also a unique emotional and cultural experience. This event allows swimmers to experience the beauty of the river from different angle and connect with a place that is more than just a river – it is a symbol of freedom, nature, and life.

Participating in the VLTAVA Swim is about being part of a bigger story, feeling the pride and respect the Czech people have for this river. It is an opportunity to become part of the living history of the Vltava and to experience the strength and calm it symbolizes. Whether you are an experienced or beginner swimmer, swimming in the Vltava is an experience that will leave you with unforgettable memories and a sense of personal and cultural achievement.
